Yes, it’s been a full decade since Wiz Khalifa released his third studio album Rolling Papers, a game-changing body of work that saw Wiz finally reach commercial success. Now certified two times Platinum in the United States, Rolling Papers boasted 14 tracks with a few assists from Too $hort, Curren$y, and Taylor Gang affiliate Chevy Woods. The project also peaked at the number two spot on the Billboard 200 thanks to 197,000 album equivalent units sold during its first week out, losing to Britney Spears’ Femme Fatale.
In celebration of the timely achievement, Wiz and his team have released a limited edition green vinyl and a “Waken Baken” T-shirt. Fans also get four additional songs from the re-release — “Black & Yellow (Remix)” with Snoop Dogg, Juicy J, and T-Pain, “Stoned,” “Taylor Gang,“ and “Middle Of You” with Woods, Nikkiya, and Pooh Bear. Finally, one of the original cuts, “Hoops & Dreams,” now includes an unreleased verse from the late Nipsey Hussle that reportedly didn’t make the original cut due to clearance issues:
“Dickies shorts and Rolex watches, I’m smoking while she dancin’ topless, I think lil’ mama think she down, tell me that she strips so she could pay her way through college, bricks of money like I robbed a bank, at my table wrapped in plastic with a gang of drank, fuck what you think, I’m gon’ throw this money cause that’s why we came…/”
Khalifa’s last official LP, Rolling Papers 2, was released back in 2018, landing at number two — much like its predecessor — and subsequently earning a Gold plaque. Since then, fans have received a multitude of projects from the Pittsburgh star, including The Saga of Wiz Khalifa, It’s Only Weed Bro, Big Pimpin, #FUCC2020, and Taylor Nights.
