Currently, Jim Jones and Harry Fraud are said to be putting the finishing touches on their forthcoming joint effort The Fraud Department. Following previous drops like “Lose Lose” and “Bada Bing,” the New York duo deliver a new track titled “Laps Around The Sun,” a soulful offering that sees the Dipset general rapping about hustling for success.
The aforementioned tracks follow the deluxe edition of 2019’s El Capo, which was released last November and altogether saw a whopping 31 tracks and a slew of features from Jadakiss, Trav, Curren$y, Cam’ron, Juelz Santana, Benny The Butcher, Dave East, Maino, the late Fred The Godson, and more. Jones also spent that time frame contributing to tracks like Conway The Machine’s “Vino D,” Vado’s “Jeff Hamilton,” Grafh’s “Customer,” Philthy Rich’s “Miami Quarantining,” Millyz’s “Heightened Scenes,” French Montana’s “Too Late,” and DJ Kay Slay’s “Man Down,” among others.
Still very much a hot commodity as far as hip hop legends go, Jim Jones spoke to REVOLT about how much he charges for a feature, which can vary quite a bit:
“I try to get $10K from artists, they come back with their rebuttal. Sometimes, I might take a $6K, a $7K, or a $10K. Sometimes they only got money for eight bars, I might charge a n*gga $4K for eight bars. They might say, “I just want a hook,” I might charge them $5K for a hook. I got a guy that paid for a verse by layaway. For the past three months, every week he put $300 down. He owes three more payments, but I told him don’t even worry about it. He only paid for four bars, I gave him a whole record.”
