Last year, Nas teamed up with Hit-Boy to deliver his thirteenth studio album King’s Disease. The well-received project featured 13 tracks and additional appearances from Charlie Wilson, Big Sean, Don Toliver, Lil Durk, Anderson. Paak, Brucie B, Fivio Foreign, A$AP Ferg, and The Firm, the last of which saw the reunion of Nas with AZ, Cormega, Foxy Brown, and Dr. Dre. King’s Disease was a moderate success for the duo, landing in the top five of the Billboard 200 thanks to 47,000 album equivalent units sold during its first week of release.

Today, Nas and Hit-Boy deliver their latest collaboration “EPMD,” which acts as one of the standout cuts from Judas And The Black Messiah: The Inspired Album and was previously teased via a short in-studio clip on social media. The track sees Hit-Boy providing his legendary cohort the proper soundscape to flex on like the hip hop icon that he is:

“Condos in different time zones, way before y’all was double cuppin’ the styrofoam, come on dun, had to lay it down and lay him his terms, yeah, want me to turn the panache, just say the word, yeah/

Hit told me to chill, just lay the verse, you know my thoughts get crazy, think about shit from the ‘80s, buggin’ like Tom Brady, ballin’ like Kyrie and KD, real had the medallion, emblem of a Mercedes…/”

In addition to “EPMD,” Hit-Boy also contributed a solo cut of his own to the aforementioned soundtrack titled “Broad Day,” a hard-hitting effort that sees co-production alongside Audio Anthem and shows the world how equally-skilled Hit-Boy is in front of the mic as he is behind the boards (“Nightmares in broad day, pray I get to sleep, I should A&R the game, pick you niggas’ beats”).
