Tonight (October 16), Benny The Butcher will drop his second official studio album Burden of Proof, which sees production fully handled by Hit-Boy. Today, he drops off a final appetizer in the form of “Legend,” which features additional production from G. Ry. The track sees the Buffalo emcee displaying his confidence and swagger in regards to where he stands in history:
“I’m a boss, so my h*** too bougie for Olive Garden, huh, rap circles ‘round n***as, that’s my department, put a block in the trunk soon as I got tired of talkin’, money don’t make you solid, it just make you ten times more/
Of the person you are before you got it, and all my jewels VIP drunk where it’s crowded, and I can’t call the b***h by her name ‘cause I forgot it, said I’ma be a legend soon, s***, I’m a legend now…/”
The video comes courtesy of Joe Lombard and sees Benny The Butcher riding in a luxury convertible around the city, lounging in the club, and hanging with Hit-Boy as he recites his lyrics.
Burden of Proof will follow last year’s EP The Plugs I Met, which packed in seven tracks with assists from Black Thought, 38 Spesh, Jadakiss, Conway The Machine, Pusha T, and more. More recently, he also teamed up with DJ Drama to release the group mixtape Da Respected Sopranos, which introduces his Black Soprano Family collective.
