It’s officially the holiday season. As such, Mariah Carey is back with a brand new single titled “Fall in Love at Christmas,” a Daniel Moore-produced collaboration alongside Khalid and Kirk Franklin. The soulful ballad sees the trio ready to spread the love in the days leading to Dec. 25:
“A daze, a cold, here I miss the trace of snow, just a metaphor of us, so many Christmases ago, we had a love, so deep, just like the joy the season brings, so let’s fall in love again this Christmas night … and every Christmas, I’ll be there, this time of year we won’t throw away, we gotta fall in love again at Christmas time…”
As previously reported by REVOLT, this past Halloween saw Carey smashing a pumpkin as her longtime hit single “All I Want For Christmas Is You” played in the background. We can all be sure to hear that song playing through speakers as well — the 90’s release has officially entered the Top 50 on U.S. iTunes, and will most certainly continue to climb charts across the board. Back in 2019, “All I Want For Christmas Is You” topped the Billboard 200 for the first time since it was released 25 years prior, The iconic number hit number one a second time last year, and was included in the veteran singer’s Apple TV+ musical “Mariah Carey’s Magical Christmas Special.”
In addition to the aforementioned, 2020 also saw Carey release The Rarities, a compilation album filled with unreleased material. Her last official full-length body of work, Caution, made landfall back in 2018 and saw collaborations alongside Ty Dolla $ign, Slick Rick, Blood Orange, and Gunna throughout ten tracks.
Get your family — or that special someone — and press play on Mariah Carey, Khalid, and Kirk Franklin’s “Fall in Love at Christmas.”
