Today sees the release of Big Sean’s fifth studio LP Detroit 2, which sees a whopping 21 tracks from the Midwest star and features from Post Malone, the late Nipsey Hussle, Ty Dolla $ign, Young Thug, most of his fellow Motor City peers, and more. Added to the new album comes a dope visual for the standout track “Lithuania,” which features Travis Scott and sees the two flexing hard over Hit-Boy and Audio Anthem’s booming production:
“Lil’ b***h, don’t talk to me like I’m not me, graveyard, up late, s***, I’m with the zombies, goin’ insane, hard to contain, can’t miss a beat, my heart is the same/
You know it’s flame if I’m in this ho with Scottie, long list of problems, long list of blessings, making sure the first one never outweigh the second/
Military with the tactics, multi-million, multi-facet, she like Prince and Michael Jackson, ‘Purple Rain’ and mirrors dancin’…/”
The Mike Carson-directed cut sees the two artists traversing through hallways that are apparently overseen by beautiful women. Scott can also be seen performing his verse in what looks like a massive garden maze, all of which seems to draw vibes from the classic horror movie The Shining to some degree.
Detroit 2 is Big Sean’s first release since 2017’s I Decided., which earned him his second number one album thanks to 151,000 album equivalent units sold. That project boasted 14 tracks and assists from Eminem, Migos, The-Dream, the Flint Chozen Choir, and Starrah. Prior to that, he released what ended up being the loose singles “Overtime,” “Single Again,” and the A$AP Ferg-assisted “Bezerk.” He also contributed to his girlfriend Jhené Aiko’s “None Of Your Concern,” which landed on her latest LP release Chilombo.
