Anderson .Paak and Rick Ross teamed up to deliver their latest visual “Cut Em In.” The song landed on the Madden ‘21 soundtrack, which also sees appearances from Big K.R.I.T., Jack Harlow, EARTHGANG, Smino, Childish Major, Denzel Curry, and more. The video for “Cut Em In” debuted via a Twitch event during which Quavo and the Chargers’ Derwin James went head-to-head in Madden 21.
In the video, which features a cameo from King Bach playing their teacher, .Paak and Ross play high school students who are both hours away from graduating, if and only if they can make it through their last day. The wacky visual follows the duo through their school day as they do typical high school activities such as having fun in the lunch room, getting their work out in the weight room, and even participate in a pep rally.
In his verse, Rick Ross exudes his signature luxurious bars:
“Grew up havin’ nothing, you’re labeled impatient, but once the boss made it, you labeled amazin’. Meticulous with words, that’s your force of nature. I don’t wanna seem absurd, but that boy’s a gangster. Focusin’ on me, way from Tel-Aviv, Barbados with the hustle, pockets Elandis.”
Anderson .Paak has been putting out quality collabs all of 2020, his most recent one being his single “YUUUU” with the legendary Busta Rhymes. Paak’s last full length project was 2019’s Ventura, led by his smooth and hopeful single with Smokey Robinson “Make It Better.” Ventura was well-received and went on to win Best R&B Album at the 2020 Grammy Awards.
