Spillage Village, EarthGang and J.I.D’s Atlanta-based collective, just dropped their newest single “Hapi” featuring Dungeon Family’s Big Rube. “Hapi,” follows the previously shared singles, “Baptize” and “End of Daze.” The collective also shared the upcoming project tracklist as they gear up for the release of Spilligion, which will be out Sept. 25 via Interscope records.
On the new track, Johnny Venus comes through and passionately sings about living in darkness until you see the light:
Some say, “Life is just a Hell, and it’s here we wait until we dwell truly, truly, truly free.” Some say, “Projects and ghettos and seeds that will never grow, all berries to see.” I’ll stay with you through the night and in the darkest times. We’ll fight through it all until we reach that dawn.”
The new album will feature a list of guest artists including Chance the Rapper, Lucky Daye, Ari Lennox, and Masego. The running theme of Spilligion entails bars, visuals, and songs that reference religious texts and scriptures as Spillage Village share their reflections about everything happening right now.
Spillage Village is a music collective comprised of EarthGang, J.I.D, 6lack, Mereba, brothers Hollywood JB and JurdanBryant, and Benji.
