Spillage Village, EarthGang and J.I.D’s Atlanta-based collective, just dropped their newest single “Baptize.” Earlier this year, they announced their forthcoming project, Spiligion, which is set to drop Sept. 25. The first single from the project “End of Daze” came out at the top of June this year.
Caleb Seales-directed visual for “Baptize” shows the artists in a church setting complete with a choir one moment, then jumps to a mystical forest background the next. The title of the track is fitting not only for the lyrics and setting of the video, but also the religious reference of the Spiligion project title as well.
Spillage Village is a music collective comprised of EarthGang, J.I.D, 6lack, Mereba, brothers Hollywood JB and JurdanBryant, and Benji. The group includes a combination of singers, rappers, and producers, while founded on the “it takes a village to raise a child” mantra. Spillage Village currently has three self-released projects under its belt, Bears Like This (2014), Bears Like This Too (2015), and Bears Like This Too Much (2016).
Last year was an exciting year for Dreamville signees EarthGang and J.I.D, as the label released their Grammy-nominated Revenge of the Dreamers III project, which went on to become a certified platinum project. The Revenge of the Dreamers III Deluxe album came out at the top of 2020 and included 12 additional tracks.
