This Friday (August 28), Toni Braxton will release her new album Spell My Name, which will featured 10 new tracks from the R&B icon — including the recently released singles “Do It,” the Missy Elliott-assisted “Do It (Remix),” and “Dance.” Earlier this week, Braxton dropped off another cut from the forthcoming project titled “Gotta Move On,” which is produced by Soundz and features additional assistance from H.E.R. The track sees to show Braxton coming to the realization that her relationship has some to an end and it’s time to progress forward to the next chapter, something that many of us can relate to:

“I kinda thought, it is important, you would be right here, yeah I should’ve saw it, I seen the warnings, when you couldn’t be here, no/

Tell me would it burn, baby if the tables turned? Pardon, if the tables turned, tell me could you handle it? See I gotta, yeah, I just gotta move on…/”

Spell My Name follows Braxton’s ninth studio album Sex & Cigarettes, which was released back in 2018. Over the course of her career, the Maryland songstress has sold 67 million records worldwide, including 41 million albums and several GRAMMY, Billboard Music, and American Music awards. She’s also released music with her sisters as the Braxtons, with So Many Ways and Braxton Family Christmas making landfall in 1996 and 2015, respectively.

As previously reported by REVOLT, Toni Braxton spoke on how a heart attack led to her now-well known lupus diagnosis, something that she’s continued to be open about in interviews and on her reality television appearances:

“I was still in Vegas, I had a residency in Vegas [from 2006 to 2008] and I was just sick all the time… Chronically fatigued, my blood pressure was high [and] I never suffered from it. I just couldn’t figure it out and come to find out, I had a heart attack. I had to go to the hospital and that’s when they found out.”
