Last week saw the release of Mozzy’s latest project Beyond Bulletproof, which sees 13 new tracks from the Sacramento star and additional appearances from Shordie Shordie, G Herbo, Polo G, Eric Bellinger, and more. Following visuals for “Boyz To Men,” “Pricetag,” and more, Mozzy drops off another dope clip for “The Homies Wanna Know,” which is produced by JabariOnTheBeat. Mozzy explained the creation of the track to Apple Music:

“It’s a lot of s*** that I done cooked up that’s off-limits. I’ve tweaked a lot of s***. I might say something in a song and then [remove] it, just being considerate of others and how they might feel. But nine times out of ten, I let the beat control the whole vibe of everything. I don’t never prep what I’m going to say or what the song is going to be about. I just go in that motherf***er and record. The beat talks to me and I talk to the beat. It’s gotta talk to me. It gotta tamper with my soul. If it don’t, then it probably won’t make the album.”

The visual comes courtesy of Dom Stills and begins with Mozzy giving out supplies to those less fortunate in his city. We then see him on a day out in his Rolls Royce with some of his local partners, proving that he’s still tapped into the streets that made him.

Speaking to Uproxx, Mozzy explains what he wanted listeners to get out of Beyond Bulletproof:

“I want the one’s that’s overlooked. I want them to feel like it’s their time to shine. That n**** talking about me, he’s talking about my life. This album — it’s for me. I want them to feel possessive of the album. I want them to feel like that motherf***er was painted direct specifically for them. I just want them to be able to utilize it as a therapy tool. Cry to it, laugh to it, smile to it, get mad to it. It’s a roller coaster of emotion.”
