Mozzy has to be one of the hardest working hip hop artists out right now. Over the past decade, he’s delivered a lifetime worth of projects for his fans to enjoy. His most recent solo drop was last spring’s Internal Affairs, a 13-track body of work that saw additional appearances from Sada Baby, Sage The Gemini, Don Q, Teejay3k and more. He’s also dropped collaborative projects with Raz Simone, Gunplay and Tsu Surf in the same year. Simply put, his work ethic is nothing short of prolific.
Today, he reveals a new single titled “Tunnel Vision,” which sees him speaking on how much he’s gone through to reach his current position, the law of brotherhood in the streets
“how you n***as eating but won’t let your partner nibble, treat him like a peasant he gon’ pop you…” — and more:
“To love one unconditionally is bulletproof/
The way I prayed, I knew my patna nem were pullin’ through/
…
It’s just to motivate the youngin’s, really come from nothin’/
Post traumatic stress, we really suffer from it/
I’m haunted by my past but I ain’t runnin’ from it…/”
The accompanying clip sees Mozzy and his crew flying on a private jet and rapping his hard-hitting bars on a rooftop while flashes of reality — including a gun aimed at its victim and a judge gavel deciding a man’s life — flicker in-between.
This isn’t Mozzy’s first release of 2020. Back in January, the Sacramento emcee returned to his hometown for his “Overcame” music video, showcasing important stomping grounds for the artist like Fourth Avenue Park. Given these high-quality drops, it’s clear that Mozzy’s looking to keep things original to himself and where he comes from in regards to forthcoming releases.
As we wait for more, fans can check out the short-but-sweet “Tunnel Vision” below.
