Friday (March 27) saw the release of PARTYNEXTDOOR’s third studio album, PARTYMOBILE, which – as was revealed today – sees 15 new tracks from the OVO Sound artist. What’s also gaining a lot of attention are the presumed features. In addition to Drake and Bad Bunny’s expected appearances on the lead single “Loyal” and its remix, we also previously learned that Rihanna will be joining PARTYNEXTDOOR on a track titled “Believe It” — and the reports were true. This new single marks Rihanna’s official return to music since 2017, when she joined Kendrick Lamar and N.E.R.D. on their respective singles “Loyalty” and “Lemon.” Her last studio LP, Anti, was released back in 2016.
Fans picked on up the superstar feature when the Canadian artist played the song on social media, leaving what was presumed to be Rihanna’s vocals to play over the speakers:
The world has been waiting for Rihanna’s ninth studio album since 2018, when she replied to a fan on social media that she’d be releasing a project the following year. Since then, Riri has turned her focus to her blossoming Fenty Beauty brand, which has allowed her to amass a $600 million dollar fortune and become one of the wealthiest female musicians in the world. Many are choosing to be optimistic that, with this feature, her forthcoming album campaign will kick into high gear.
Meanwhile, PARTYNEXTDOOR is delivering his first official LP release since 2016’s PARTYNEXTDOOR 3. He did release his Colours 2 EP in 2017, the sequel to its 2014 predecessor. Since then, he’s released three singles from PARTYMOBILE — the aforementioned “Loyal,” “The News,” and — this past February — the Alex Lustig-produced cut “Split Decision.”
