Two years since the release of his big label debut Harder Than Ever, Lil Baby has become one of the top rappers of his generation, following in the footsteps of Atlanta peers like Young Thug and Migos. Now, the Quality Control artist looks to take things to the next level via his new sophomore studio LP My Turn, which follows the success of the high charting singles “Woah,” “Sum 2 Prove,” and the Queen & Slim soundtrack cut “Catch The Sun.” My Turn also sees additional contributions from Gunna, Future, Lil Wayne, Lil Uzi Vert, Moneybagg Yo and 42 Dugg.
During an Instagram Live session last year, Lil Baby explained the meaning behind the album title:
“I called it My Turn ’cause I feel like everybody else had a lil’ turn. It’s my turn now. Everybody dropped their mixtapes, their albums…”
2018’s Harder Than Ever earned Lil Baby a top five spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart, along with a Gold plague. That same year, he also delivered a Drip Harder, a collaborative project with Gunna, and the mixtape Street Gossip.
