2020 has been a busy year for NLE Choppa. Back in August, the Memphis star delivered his official debut LP Top Shotta, which saw 20 tracks and assists from Mulatto, Roddy Ricch, Chief Keef, and Lil Baby. The project also scored Choppa a top ten placement on the Billboard 200 thanks to 36,000 album equivalent units sold. Not finished with blessing his fans with new music, November brought another project titled From Dark to Light, which contained 13 cuts and a couple of features from Big Sean and Ink. Add in the fact that NLE Choppa also joined the likes of Fivio Foreign, Rod Wave, Polo G, Jack Harlow, and Baby Keem as a XXL freshman, one could argue that he’s had the best year in the game — despite the chaos that’s taken place.
This week, Choppa returns with another single titled “Jiggin,” which is produced by 4UEZ and Kannon Beats and sees the young emcee basking in his success, which is well deserved:
“I call the shots don’t need no telephone, or no microphone, you call it quits, tell me who better Jones, you or all my clones, can you admit I’m fly just like a drone, in every timezone, I’m on yo’ mind/
I left yo’ mind blown, now yo’ mind gone, I’m ‘bout to pull up just give me a minute, it took me a hour before I had spent it…/”
In related news, NLE Choppa has also been speaking out against YouTube, who decided to remove his “Paradise” video for lyrics that seem to dismiss the current pandemic:
“Ain’t wearin’ no mask, n***a, fuck the pilot, fake-ass coronavirus, cops killin’, startin’ riots, perception is what you decide/”
In addition to the music, Choppa took to social media to warn his followers to not take the COVID-19 vaccine that’s now begun rolling out around the world:
