Last weekend, Giveon liberated his new EP When It’s All Said and Done, which consists of four tracks and a single feature from Snoh Aalegra on the track “Last Time.” Today, he reveals a new visual for the closing track “Stuck On You,” which sees production from Sevn Thomas, Jahaan Sweet, Boi-1da, Rodrigo Barahona, and Giveon himself. The somber cut centers around a toxic relationship that, despite the hurt and apparent feelings from other loved ones, he refuses to exit from:
“Up in your room once again, tempted, bad for me, it’s the truth, but I can’t miss this, don’t tell my friends that I’m here to visit, don’t tell my friends that I’m here, waiting for you, even how you treat me, you’re my baby even when you leave me/
Maybe I’m the one to blame, maybe I’m the cause of the pain, waiting for you, even how you treat me, you’re my baby even when you leave me, maybe I’m the problem and the one that’s causing all of this…/”
The video comes courtesy of Alexander Black and shows Giveon going through the motion’s heard on the song with his lover, whether at the beach, in bed, or outside simply facing each other as if in deep conversation about his feelings. Many will certainly relate to such toxicity.
Earlier this year, Giveon released another EP titled Take Time, which saw eight cuts and keeps with the tales of love and heartbreak that the Long Beach crooner is becoming known for. That EP also boasts “Like I Want You,” Giveon’s most successful single to date which has since peaked at number 12 on the Billboard Hot R&B Songs chart. He also saw some additional exposure by providing the chorus to Drake’s Dark Lane Demo Tapes standout “Chicago Freestyle.”
