Rising R&B star Giveon just treated fans to not only a fresh track to indulge in, but also confirmation about brand new music coming very soon. Today (Sept. 30), the Long Beach artist shares “Stuck On You,” the first cut off his forthcoming EP When It’s All Said And Done. The project will be short and sweet, containing four tracks and a sole feature from Snoh Aalegra. “I am excited beyond words to share these stories with you on 10/2,” he wrote in his announcement. “I hope you find yourself in my story.”
On the new love song, Giveon sings about not being able to let go, despite the turmoil:
“Maybe I’m the problem and the one that’s causing all of this. I can’t say I love you no more, ‘cause my friends gon’ judge me for sure. I took some time but I realize, you do me wrong but it feels right. It feels like I’m stuck on you.”
Back in March, Drake surprise-dropped a two-track package ahead of his Dark Lane Demo Tapes release, which featured names like Chris Brown, Future, and Playboi Carti. On the more somber track of the two, “Chicago Freestyle,” fans all over the world were intrigued by who was singing the hook, which was none other than Giveon. Taking full opportunity of the spotlight, Giveon dropped his debut EP Take Time shortly after, which included his stand-out track “Like I Want You.”
Giveon has had a year of manifestations coming true, including wanting to work with Snoh Aalegra and wanting to hit a million streams by his birthday. In an interview with Billboard, he speaks on how he accomplishes his goals:
“I’m so driven by that and I’m also driven by hard work, but I don’t just put it out in the universe and sit there. There has to be some action too and surrounding myself with people that are better than me and that know more than me. I think I found a combination of what it takes to learn. Learning is the biggest key.”
