Giveon is definitely embracing his breakout year to the fullest. After learning about the singer through his contribution to Drake’s “Chicago Freestyle” earlier this year, the music industry has been his playground. Shortly after, Giveon graced the world with his EP Take Time, an 8-track effort that quickly expanded the size of his fan base. After letting the EP marinate for a few months now, the singer returns to the forefront with a brand new EP titled When It’s All Said And Done.
It really doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that he’s here for the long run.
While speaking with Billboard earlier this year in March, the Long Beach singer discussed many things including how he’s grown as an artist since the release of his 2013 debut EP:
The way I was learning, I was only going on YouTube and I was literally typing in “greatest artists of all time” and then just see what they were doing different from me. That’s kind of what I was doing at first, but what accelerated that process was being around my management team. I’m fortunate enough that they manage some of the best producers in the world, and they’re able to put me around some of the best writers in the world. Just listening, being in the right room and being able to be a sponge and absorb all of that free information because that’s information people would die for [is amazing]. I’m lucky enough to just have that at my will pretty much.
When It’s All Said And Done EP is packed lightly with only four records — this is really all we need as an appetizer before we’re able to receive the main course (his first full length project). With these four records intact, he links with only one feature from the likes of the talented Snoh Aalegra.
