It’s only been some months since Jeezy liberated the EP Twenty/20 Pyrex Vision, a seven-track reunion with producer Shawty Redd. Now, the Atlanta legend returns with the new single “Back,” which features Yo Gotti and sees production from Don Cannon. Simply put, the track reminds long-time fans that the self-proclaimed Snowman hasn’t gone anywhere:
“Damn, bald head, Pac s***, plus my main thing like to eat with chopsticks, I can whip a dream with a fork, n***a, yeah, play that pyrex like a sport, n***a, the highway hot, n***a no shade, picked up a hunnid packs, split it two ways/
Damn, that’s fifty here, and fifty there, get it in the air, like money in the air, that soda in that yola caught a fade, b***h, clean it up with the same card we play spades with, the streets ain’t a game, you can’t renege, grown man s***, you can’t play, kids…/”
Prior to Twenty/20 Pyrex Vision, Jeezy released his ninth studio album TM104: The Legend of the Snowman in 2019, which boasted 18 tracks and features from Queen Naija, Gunna, Ty Dolla $ign, John Legend, Meek Mill, Rick Ross, CeeLo Green, and more. That project landed in the top five of the Billboard 200, thanks to about 50,000 album equivalent units during its first week of release.
As seen on 2008’s The Recession, Jeezy is still very much in tune with the political landscape. As reported by REVOLT, he spoke to MSNBC about Donald Trump and his effect on our country:
“Trump, he’s one-of-a-kind, because it takes a different type of leader to make things about him … I feel like a lot of times you see his ego. Right now, you know, it’s about the people. To me, you talking about ‘Make America Great,’ … We gone make America greater than it’s ever been with or without him.”
