Back in November, Snoop Dogg partnered with Def Jam to deliver the compilation album Algorithm, a 25-track body of work that saw a wealth of contributions from Wiz Khalifa, Mary J. Blige, Benny The Butcher, Busta Rhymes, Ty Dolla $ign, Blxst, Fabolous, Dave East, Method Man, Redman, and more. Over the weekend, the Long Beach legend unveiled another visual from said release for “No Smut On My Name,” a DJ Battlecat-produced effort that features Kokane and Battle Loco and sees the collaborators rapping about real life and their shared street affiliations:
“I kicked, walked in, I been on four-twenty deep in a motherfucker, iced out, pocket full of heat, uncut, no smut, niggas try to run up, pop a shot, cut line, I’m up a line cut, yeah, busters keep talkin’ and I’m tyin’ ’em up, duct tape, gasoline, yeah, we fryin’ ’em up, talkin’ wreck out the neck, get your check for respect, it’s a promise, not a threat, we are back in the West…”
Directed by Peter Quinn, the accompanying clip for “No Smut On My Name” takes the black-and-white approach and sees Snoop and Loco dressed to the nines and a trippy environment that moves and bends to the track. Throughout, the rappers get zapped into spaceships, cloned, beheaded, and more through the use of some wacky effects. Unfortunately, Kokane doesn’t make an appearance in the video.
Back in April, Snoop Dogg released his last solo LP From Tha Streets 2 Tha Suites, a 10-track effort that saw plenty of contributions from Kokane, Larry June, his Eastsidaz cohorts Big Tray Deee and Goldie Loc, Prohoezak, Devin The Dude, and more. That project was also led by top tier singles like “CEO,” “Roaches In My Ashtray,” and the song-turned-G Star Raw advertisement “Say It Witcha Booty.”
