Make no mistake — Fat Trel is officially in top gear. Just last week, he dropped off “Last Day In,” his first official drop since his release from prison last month. Today, he continues to build on his momentum with a remix of Lil Durk and Only The Family’s Loyal Bros standout “Hellcats & Trackhawks.” As expected, the D.C. giant completely obliterates Slowburnz’s booming production with an ever-changing flow filled with the street-oriented bars that he’ll well known for:
“Yea I’m Boosa’s keeper, in my city, I’m the reaper now, fresh off parole, on the way to my show, I hold that 50 down, real niggas touch, it’s up, it’s us, I’ma bring that city out…”
Courtesy of Aesthetic Visuals and Brickdam Clubhouse, the accompanying clip for Trel’s latest lyrical onslaught sees him surrounded by more than a few high-end whips — including a Dodge Hellcat, no doubt — and bursts of fire, all of which matches the energy of said remix to a T. Trust that this will only fuel fans thirst for more from the Slutty Boyz captain, including an official follow-up to last year’s Big Homie.
In a recent interview with REVOLT, Trel revealed that, in addition to Lil Durk himself, he’d connected with artists like Icewear Vezzo, Wale, and EST Gee, which hopefully means that new songs and collaborations lie just over the horizon. He also kept it very real about his focus moving forward, giving advice to anyone who may have been in a similar position:
“Focus on the music side of things more. I think that’s where I made a mistake at. [I] was tryna be in the streets and in the industry at the same time, and not taking my job or my career [as] serious as I was supposed to … You gotta leave that [street shit] behind.”
