By now, the majority of us have probably tuned in to the latest episode of REVOLT’s “Drink Champs,” which saw N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN hosting none other than Kanye West as their latest guest. During the almost two-and-a-half clip, the Chicago rapper kept it real about his feelings on fellow rap peers, his wife Kim Kardashian, his overall impact on the culture, and much more.
Towards the end of the interview, Ye somewhat abruptly revealed that he would be releasing an deluxe version of his tenth studio LP Donda, and even performed an unheard song to give everyone an idea of what to expect:
“I wrote this song for Donda that we’re gonna bring out on the bonus album .. on the deluxe, but it says, ‘I Let Go.’ ‘If I let go, let God and let go, I gotta let it go, I got it let’s go.’ And then—it’s funny—it’s got this line that makes you think about Miami, it says, ‘Flying to the Mondrian-drian, dun dun dun.’”
This isn’t the first time we’ve been teased with a possible Donda (Deluxe) — last month, an eagle-eyed fan noticed that Apple Music updated Donda in different countries, seemingly confirming that a re-release was imminent:
Following a few memorable stadium listening sessions, the long-awaited Donda made landfall this past August, complete with a whopping 27 tracks and a wealth of contributions from the likes of JAY-Z, Fivio Foreign, Playboi Carti, Jay Electronica, Roddy Ricch, Lil Baby, the Weeknd, and DaBaby, among many others. The project was a huge commercial success for the Chicago icon, scoring him his tenth chart-topper on the Billboard 200 thanks to 309,000 first-week album equivalent units. The project has also since earned Ye a Gold certification.
