The temporary co-administrators of DMX’s estate have been announced. According to the rapper’s PR representative, X’s three eldest sons “will now exclusively manage the affairs of their late father’s estate.”
“DMX’s ex-wife Tashera Simmons’ oldest sons, Xavier Simmons, Sean Simmons and Tacoma Simmons, have been appointed temporary co-administrators of the estate of Earl ‘DMX’ Simmons pursuant to a decision of the Westchester County Surrogate’s Court today…,” the PR rep wrote in a statement.
“The estate has retained entertainment attorney Ron Sweeney of Ron Sweeney and Company to exclusively handle all entertainment-related matters. Estate Attorney Herb Nass is the attorney for the Earl ‘DMX’ Simmons estate and the sons as co-administrators.”
Conversations regarding X’s estate have been a source of contention among family members, mainly because the “Slippin’” emcee died without leaving a will. His eldest sons petitioned to be estate administrators, as did his fiancée, Desiree Lindstrom and his oldest daughters Sasha Simmons and Jada Ode, whose requests were denied by judges. Recently, another woman came forward hoping to prove that she is an heir to the estate.
As previously reported by REVOLT, Raven Barmer-Simmons, a Georgia woman claims to be X’s 15th child. She and the rapper’s other children will be required to take DNA tests and prove that they are related to the “Ruff Ryders Anthem” star.
“The next big thing is to determine who are the rightful heirs,” said Estate Attorney Nass. “The estate is going to ask everyone to prove paternity through DNA testing. All the legal children of DMX will be entitled to an equal share of his estate… We need to collect assets and pay debts and administration costs. We don’t have a lot of information about his income streams, but now [that] the temporary administrators have been appointed, we can ask questions and expect answers.”
