DMX’s fiancée says their 5-year-old son Exodus is still mourning his father’s death. On Friday (Sept. 3), Desiree Lindstrom took to her Instagram Story to share an emotional update about the young child, saying he “misses his daddy so much.”
“It’s so sad and heartbreaking as a mother when your son ask mommy when can we go and be with daddy and God in heaven…!” Lindstrom wrote alongside crying and prayer hands emojis. She added, “He misses his daddy so much.”
Last month, Exodus celebrated his fifth birthday. Lindstrom marked the occasion with an Instagram post, writing, “Exodus Earl Simmons… you are the joy that came into our lives five years ago. God blessed us with you and I am thankful that you are by my side.”
“Your daddy loved you beyond the countless stars and when he named you… he knew that you would be the next chapter to us… the Exodus,” she added. “HAPPY BIRTHDAY my son… blessings, good health, love and peace.”
The tiny tot tragically lost his father, DMX, back in April. As reported by REVOLT, the New York rap icon was rushed to the White Plains Hospital on April 2 after suffering a heart attack. He passed away at the hospital one week later after losing the function of several organs. DMX was also a father to 14 other children, four of whom he shared with his ex-wife Tashera Simmons.
Lindstrom has continued to keep her late fiancé’s memory alive on social media. Back in May, she and Exodus celebrated their first Mother’s Day without DMX by visiting him at the graveyard.
“[Exodus] and I decided to go spend Mother’s Day with his daddy… Today is the first Mother’s Day with him being in heaven and not here with us!” she captioned an Instagram post at the time. “We miss him deeply and love him so very much!”
