Last December, Jack Harlow unveiled his debut LP That’s What They All Say, which contained 15 dope cuts and additional assists from Lil Baby, Big Sean, Chris Brown, Adam Levine, EST Gee, and more. The project was a top five success for the Generation Now-signed artist, and subsequently earned him a Gold certification.
Yesterday (Oct. 22), Harlow decided to deliver another visual from That’s What They All Say for “Luv Is Dro.” Produced by Squat Beats, Trak Starz, Nemo Achida, and Go Grizzly, the track features assistance from Bryson Tiller and the late Static Major, who’s inclusion is taken from his own posthumous release “Love Is Dro” — a song that essentially compares sex to marijuana:
“Let me love you slow, I’m not in a rush, girl, I’ma love you slow, take my time tonight, can I take my time? Plus, girl, my love is dro, I give you a rush, see, girl, my love is dro, girl, I’ma love you slow, take a hit of me baby, baby, baby…”
The accompanying clip for “Luv Is Dro” comes courtesy of Ace Pro of Harlow’s Private Garden collective, and is essentially a big celebration in the collaborators’ hometown of Louisville. Throughout, viewers will also see different dedications to Major — on the bus, in a room where Tiller is being affectionate with his special someone, and prominently on Ace Pro’s T-shirt.
Earlier this week, Harlow took to social media to acknowledge his first number one on the Billboard Hot 100 — his collaboration with Lil Nas X, the Kanye West and Take a Daytrip-backed “INDUSTRY BABY,” which is taken from Nas X’s own debut MONTERO:
“My first number one. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t see this coming while I was writing my verse. Thank you for having me @lilnasx. This song is something I am gonna be proud to be a part of for the rest of my life. As for what’s next…buckle up…”
