It’s been almost a full year since Frisco dropped off his latest solo LP The Familiar Stranger, which contained 15 tracks with additional features from Spragga Benz, Ghetts, D Double E, Novelist, his Boy Better Know compadres Skepta, Jammer, Jme, and Shorty, and more. More recently, he, Jme, and Shorty connected with Capo Lee for the EP Norf Face.
Last week (Sept. 15), the Tottenham legend returns with Deuce, a quick-strike offering that comes with two tracks — “Like Frisco” and the Big Zeeks and Shanti Force-assisted “Flowers.” “Like Frisco” sees Frisco delivering some of his hardest bars to date over production that perfectly melds grime and drill to create a seriously hard-hitting number:
“Are you really from the ends like I am? Spin an emcee like Sian, a ting dem dere, come try man, go ask the Ras how I deal with my man…”
“Flowers” seems well suited for the dance floor, with Frisco toasting over island vibes while demanding his respect while he’s still around to received. All-in-all, both songs are proof that Frisco is unequivocally a profound master of many genres.
Prior to the aforementioned releases, Frisco made huge waves on the music scene with classics like Fully Grown, Tear Drops, British Nights, and System Killer. The past several years have also seen Frisco keeping his fans fed with his Back 2 Da Lab mixtape series. The most recent volume, his fifth, made landfall in 2018 and — in addition to BBK member appearances — saw a wealth of contributions from Tiggs Da Author, Moelogo, Skrapz, P Money, President T, and more.
Press play on Frisco’s Deuce EP. In related news, today also sees him beginning his four-city UK tour, which will see him in Manchestor, Bristol, Birmingham, and London. You can pick up tickets for that here.
