As with most groups that have reached success from their individual standpoints, being able to enjoy full posse cuts become far and few in between over time. Thankfully, fans of legendary grime crew Boy Better Know can enjoy Frisco’s new single “Red Card,” which features assistance from Skepta, Jammer, Jme, and Shorty on the Trooh Hippi-produced effort. As expected, the Daughters of Reykjavík-sampled cut gives the emcees plenty of room to display some of their best bars to date:

“I jump on a riddim and direspect it, f*** with my mates get sent to the medics, diss me online then see me and beg it/

Red card, might see me anywhere in the world, but i’m still in my ends hard, man can’t ring me and ask where I know his girl from/

Man better hang up and re-dial, BBK till i’m old and senile…/”

The track sees an accompanying visual courtesy of Chas Appeti, which strips down the usual theatrics to show BBK roaming around different locations in London during their performance of the hard-hitting track. In anything, the grainy, fast-moving clip gives off the type of vibes that make fans hope for a new album from the collective in the future.

“Red Card” is set to appear on Frisco’s forthcoming album The Familiar Stranger, which is set to be released October 16 and will see additional appearances from Ghetts, D Double E, Spragga Benz, Devlin, and more. Prior to that, the Tottenham artist released British Nights, System Killer, and Back 2 Da Lab Vol. 5 in 2014, 2016, and 2018, respectively.

While the grime veterans have always been active musically (both Skepta and Jme released well-received albums within the past year), Boy Better Know haven’t all appeared on a single track since 2018’s “Athlete,” which featured Goldie1. They all also appeared on Skepta’s Konnichiwa standout “Detox” back in 2016.
