To date, producer trio The FaNaTiX have already crafted hit records with the likes of David Guetta, Stylo G, Nicki Minaj, Vybz Kartel, Giggs, Chip, and Ms Banks. This week, they connect with M1llionz and Popcaan for “These Streets (Don’t Luv U),” a drill-inspired cut that sees the artist reminding listeners why the road life gets you nowhere in the end:
“Let me tell you some things ‘bout the streets because this lifestyle don’t come with a manual, niggas be playing both sides, informing, but moving like shottas, we call them, dangles, secondly, don’t trust these girls, as soon as you go broke, she’s gone and your thing gets cancelled, also, before anything, buy a wap, you gone trip running fast in them Gucci sandals/”
Directed by RD Studios, the accompanying clip sees the collaborators in the throws of Jamaica, mobbing heavy in different location and showing just how real the island gets in regards to street life.
Both Popcaan and M1llionz have remained pretty active over the past year. Backed by OVO Sound, Popcaan blessed his fans with last August’s FIXTAPE, a 19-track offering that saw additional features from Drake, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Stylo G, Masicka, Tommy Lee, Frahcess One, Jada Kingdom, French Montana, and more. 2020 also saw him team up with Canadian artist Preme for the six-track Link Up EP, which saw assists from Davido, Wiz Khalifa, and BEAM, among others. While a follow-up body of work isn’t confirmed, the Unruly boss has kept his fans with a slew of dope cuts — including “Relevant,” “Cream,” “Win,” “Best/Blessed,” “Memory,” “Jungle Justice (Part Twice),” “Medal,” and “Survivor.” While not as prolific as his counterpart, M1llionz has been raising everyone’s anticipation for his official debut with hard-hitting releases like “Badnis,” “Lagga,” and “Versus.”
