This past weekend, Young Thug unveiled the second installment of his Slime Language compilation series, which sees his Young Stoner Life collective collaborating with the likes of Drake, Travis Scott, Lil Uzi Vert, Kid Cudi, Big Sean, Lil Baby, Meek Mill, Future, Rowdy Rebel, Nav, and YNW Melly, among others. Following dope visuals for “Take It To Trial” and “Ski,” Thugger & Co. keep the momentum going with a new clip for “Real,” which sees the Atlanta star teaming up with his real brother Unfoonk. Produced by RichieTheGod and Jai Beats, the track centers around the artists’ struggles with family, women, and enemies:
“I asked my ex why she lied to me, she told me, “Unfoonk, why you play me?,” I told that bitch please stop lyin’, hey, check the Rollie, bitch, it’s my time, it’s Slime Mob ‘til the death of me, don’t say you love me if you won’t kill for me, I see my haters on the sideline, heaven taught me I’m in top five/”
Directed by NeverPanic, the video for “Real” starts with shots of Unfoonk in prison, before eventually getting released and turning to music alongside Thug — who, at one point, is randomly shown on television as a news correspondent. Eventually, Unfoonk graduates to a real recording career, and celebrates his signing with YSL. All-in-all, it’s probably a close depiction of how Unfoonk’s life has transpired since his 11-year incarceration.
Prior to Slime Language 2, Unfoonk liberated the aptly titled project 11 Years No Tears in 2020, which boasted 13 cuts and contributions from Lil GotIt, Lil Keed, Yak Gotti, Guaptarantino, Shad Da God, Solo Lucci, Samson The Great, Yung Mal, Money Game Boo, and more. That same year, he also teamed up with B Slime for the single “Lingo Nation.”
