After teasing their joint mixtape last month, Young Thug and Chris Brown came through with Slime & B on Tuesday (May 5), which was also Brown’s 31st birthday. The 12-track offering sees features from Too $hort, E-40, HoodyBaby, Gunna, Lil Duke, Shad Da God and Major Nine.
“Me and my brother [Chris Brown] did something special for you guys since this virus has everyone down.. Hope you like it lots,” Thugger had announced on Instagram.
As if the two rappers’ first-ever joint project wasn’t enough, Thug has now also revealed that he recorded all of his Slime & B verses in one day.
“I recorded all the verses in one day #OnGod,” the So Much Fun artist tweeted on Tuesday (May 5).
Several fans applauded his work ethic.
“This is legit why Thugger is a GOAT of the modern era,” one Twitter user wrote.
“And it’s STILL fire,” another tweeted.
Prior to Slime & B, the two artists last collaborated on Breezy’s 2017 mixtape, Heartbreak on a Full Moon alongside Future in “High End.”
Last month, Thug partnered with 300 Entertainment and challenged fans to recreate the cover art from his 2015 debut mixtape, Barter 6. According to a press release, the winner, who will be hand-selected by Thug, will be awarded $5,000 and have their artwork circulated by the label and Thug’s social media handles. The competition began on April 16 and ended last Thursday (April 30).
“Barter 6 Challenge is officially closed,” 300 Entertainment announced via Instagram on Tuesday (May 5). “Thank you to all our fans that showed us their talent. Winner will be announced soon!”
For Brown, Slime & B arrived shortly after his collaborated single with T-Pain, “Wake Up Dead.” Nappy Boy previewed the track on Instagram before its release, revealing that the single was “super special” to him because his wife Amber Najm helped him write it.
