Last month, Yelawolf and Caskey teamed up for Yelawolf Blacksheep, an 11-track effort that saw additional assists from DJ Paul and Cub da CookUpBoss. This past week, the CookUpBoss-assisted cut, “Cookies,” gets a dope — and increasingly dark — new visual to match.
Produced by Taysty, “Cookies” sees the collaborators flexing about being rich and living the rockstar lifestyle:
“Yeah, I ain’t a killer, don’t push me, shawty was actin’ too boujee, when she see the car that I’m in, and gon’ give me that pussy, okay, I think I know why they lookin’, you gotta have you a check just to book me, I don’t do dessert, but I smoke on the cookies, okay/”
Delivered by Zev and Burn The Boats, the accompanying clip starts off normal enough, with Yelawolf and Caskey hosting a dinner party with some beautiful people — meanwhile, Cub da CookUpBoss is seen in the kitchen preparing the meals. As time progresses, it’s become apparent that the chef and hosts are actively poisoning their guests, all of whom eventually end up dead. Near the end, a butler brings Yelawolf and Caskey a gun with two bullets for the presumable purpose of committing suicide.
“Cookies” following previously released videos for “Been A Problem,” “Open,” “Just The Intro,” and “Billy And The Purple Datsun.” Prior to that, Caskey liberated the Cash Money Records-backed EP Viral and the independent drop I Changed. Yelawolf’s last body of work, Ghetto Cowboy, was released in 2019 and marked his first outing after parting ways with Shady Records. Currently, the Slumerican rapper and RiFF RaFF are gearing up to release a joint project of their own titled TURQUOiSE TORNADO — Paul Wall, Ronny J, Struggle Jennings, Peso Peso, Danny Swift Garcia, and more are confirmed to make appearances.
