Once a hip hop song catches everyone’s attention, it doesn’t take long for others to try their hand over its instrumental. Most recently, CJ’s “Whoopty” has become the latest hit record, and the likes of WESTSIDE BOOGIE and Polo G have already provided some dope freestyles as a result.
Next up is Young M.A, who makes quick work of Pxcoyo’s drill production with bars centering on sexual debauchery, living the hood rich lifestyle, and music that’s said to be on the way:
“Ooouuuvie, when we in the club it’s a movie, I got the gang full of goonies, but I am a goblin like Tunechi, I can’t never lack, gotta watch my back, ’cause these niggas be switching like mood rings/
So if you that nigga I’m sending my hitters to spin on your block like it’s movie, slide in a hoopty, just got a check, hundred K flex, so I went and bought me a new V/”
Directed by Marc Diamond, the accompanying music video for Young M.A’s latest drop — cleverly titled “Ooouuuvie”— keeps things simple, with the Brooklyn rhymer delivering her performance in a parking lot while showing off her supercar and high-end jewelry.
It’s been a couple of years since M.A unveiled her debut album Herstory in the Making, a 21-track offering that featured a couple of assists from close associated Relle Bey and Max YB. Far from dormant, she’s since dropped off an EP — Red Flu — as well as a slew of loose singles, including the recently liberated cuts “Big Steppa” and “Off The Yak.” M.A has also contributed to songs like Fivio Foreign’s “Move Like A Boss” and Eminem’s “Accommodating.”
Fans can press play on Young M.A’s “Ooouuuvie” freestyle below. Judging from what was said on wax (“Sorry for the wait, when I drop this tape…”), fans can probably expect more from her soon.
