Kodak Black recently made headlines after name-dropping Young M.A in his new song, “Pimpin Ain’t Easy.” The Florida rapper then doubled down on the sexually suggestive lyrics, hopping on Instagram Live to further assert his advances and continue to ignore how uncomfortable the situation was given Young M.A’s known sexual preferences.
After Young M.A addressed the situation, referring to the 21-year-old rapper as “weird,” Kodak once again commented on the matter on Instagram Live.
During the latest broadcast, the polarizing rapper appears to downplay the situation as well as encourage his fans to stop flooding the mentions of Young M.A on social media. While Kodak didn’t directly address the backlash he’s received given the nature of his sexually explicit lyrics and commentary and the context that Young M.A has openly vocalized that she is gay, he gave an on-brand response that notes how he doesn’t take social media too seriously.
“Bruh, c’mon be realistic. I am too fly for that s–t,” he said, vaguely addressing the situation. “And I got too much ‘resources’ to go that route. I was just bulls–ttin’, man. I know I be jiving. I be jiving around and s–t like that y’all know me. And leave her alone!… Lot of people be sensitive on the internet and in life. People go to saying crazy s–t… like come on now.”
It appears as though Young M.A has already moved on from giving the situation too much air time, using the eyes on her social media to instead promote her new music video.
Elsewhere during his time on social media this week, Kodak took a moment to tell his followers that he believes he’s on the same level as Nas, Tupac and the Notorious B.I.G.
“I’m the hardest young n—a,” he stated. “I’m the hardest rapper in the game, I promise. Like, when you talk ’bout me, you should put me in a category of like ‘Pac, B.I.G, Nas, dem n—s, you feel me? Like really listen to my s–t. I don’t care about how I act, like, on the ‘Gram.”
