Many of the people who were arrested for their involvement in the Capitol Hill siege are expecting Donald Trump will pardon them on his final day in office. According to the Associated Press, the Trump supporters are hoping he would get them released from prison since their participation in the chaos was solely to support him.
“I feel like I was basically following my president. I was following what we were called to do. He asked us to fly there. He asked us to be there. So I was doing what he asked us to do,” Jenna Ryana told Dallas television station KTVT.
The real estate agent took a private jet to the Trump rally and later marched to the Capitol, but she believes her punishment is too harsh. “I think we all deserve a pardon. I’m facing a prison sentence. I think I do not deserve that.”
Horned rioter Jacob Chansley a.k.a. “QAnon Shaman” and Dominic Pezzola — the man who broke into the Capitol using a clear police shield — are also reportedly seeking pardons.
Trump was slated to issue as many as 100 pardons on his last day in The White House and was planning to relieve supporters who may be entangled in legal troubles. Lil Wayne — who caught some flak for supporting Trump during the 2020 presidential election — was one of the many potential candidates for a possible pardon. Kodak Black — who is currently in police custody on firearm charges — was also on the list after repeatedly asking POTUS to pardon him.
As REVOLT reported, Snoop Dogg is quietly urging Trump to include Death Row Records Co-founder Michael ‘Harry-O’ Harris’ case in his pardon consideration. He is currently serving time on attempted murder and kidnapping charges and is expected to be released in 2028.
