In honor of the new year, Sneakbo drops off a new visual for the heartfelt track “I Don’t Wanna Die,” which sees him reflecting on past losses and where he is today:
“Both grew up in the bricks, love him, that’s my dog, used to play with six, never knew about gods, aiming for the moon, we was shooting for the stars, can’t believe they gave my brother life behind bars/”
Said to be filmed on New Year’s Eve, the accompanying clip comes courtesy of Abstract Visuals and mixes shots of Sneakbo enjoying the day with footage of peers from both sides of the pond that didn’t make it to see 2021 — including Black The Ripper, Chadwick Boseman, Kobe Bryant, MF DOOM, King Von, and Pop Smoke.
Last year saw Sneakbo liberating his latest project 9 LIVES, which saw 17 tracks and additional features from Mr Eazi, Ard Adz, Tiny Boost, Dappy, Moelogo, Fekky, and more. The South London veteran could also be heard on songs like “Is That Your Chick” with Lethal Bizzle and Ambush Buzzworl, “Shut Up” with M Dargg, “Her Name” with L Marshall, “Fire” with Lauran Alexandria, and — most recently — the titillating cut “Shake That Azz.”
Currently, Sneakbo is said to be working on the third installment of his iconic Jetski Wave series, which will follow 2019’s Jetski Wave 2. The first installment of said series made landfall back in 2015, which pushed Sneakbo to the forefront of the UK rap movement in short time. In additional to Jetski Wave, loose cuts like “The Wave,” “Zim Zimma,” and “Ring A Ling” further raised Sneakbo’s profile in the UK.
Press play on Sneakbo’s “I Don’t Wanna Die” video below. Jetski Wave 3 is said to be reaching shores this year — hopefully much sooner than later.
