A new segment of Boosie Badazz’s interview with Vlad TV has aired, revealing his feelings about Lil Wayne’s endorsement of Donald Trump. Speaking with DJ Vlad, Boosie explained why he wasn’t all that surprised when Wayne expressed his support for the president.
“When Wayne popped up and did it, I wasn’t that surprised,” Boosie said. “I always felt Wayne didn’t care strongly about our Black beliefs. I always felt like Wayne felt he was rich more than Black.”
“I really think he looks at himself more as rich,” the “Wipe Me Down” rapper continued. “Because 60 percent taxes — Biden fuckin trippin. And Wayne was probably thinking about his bag and his family, and he has the right to think that way if he wants to think that way.”
“But I could never,” he added. “I just don’t feel like Wayne is passionate about our Black heritage.”
Elsewhere in the clip, Boosie also said it was Kamala Harris’ addition to Joe Biden’s ticket that “won [him] over” and explained why he wanted Trump out of office.
“I just wanted Trump out because Trump don’t like my kind. It’s very clear to me,” Boosie said. “I don’t understand how you could be a Black person and vote for him.”
Other hip hop stars have also reflected on Wayne’s political views. 50 Cent — who received criticism for his own Trump endorsement — suggested that Weezy might have been paid to support the president.
“Easily, he got paid,” 50 said while on “The Breakfast Club.” “He had the sweater and the picture.”
The “Many Men” rapper made the claim after revealing that he himself had turned down a $1 million offer from the Trump administration.
“They offered me $1 million to go to Trump’s inauguration. [They initially offered] $500,000 and it went up to $1 million while I was still confused with whether I should do it,” he said “…I’m going, ‘Nah.’ I ain’t gonna put myself in that position. ‘Cause I don’t know what I’d have to do to recover from that.”
