Currently, Young Nudy is working on the sequel to his 2017 mixtape Nudy Land. Recently, the Atlanta emcee dropped off a new single titled “Never,” which is produced by Coupe and centers around the many struggles that Nudy refuses to regress back to:
“Never goin’ back broke, no, never, I ain’t never goin’ broke for no ho, never, forever, I’ma be rich, n***a, forever, forever, you play with me, you dyin’, n***a, whatever, whenever/
You know it’s up with my gang whenever, you know we got the guns on deck, n***a, for whoever, you think you gangster ‘round here, I’ma show you who special, extra, I got money, n***a, money ain’t pressure…/”
The visual comes courtesy of iNightLyfe and Nudy himself, and shows the rapper with a large crowd living it up in the parking lot of Atlanta’s Meadows Plaza, complete with a slew of American muscle cars, four-wheelers, and lots of dead presidents. Longtime collaborator 21 Savage also shows up for a dope cameo.
Back in February, Young Nudy released his debut studio album Anyways…, which saw 16 cuts and production assistance from Coupe, DJ Marc B, 20 Rocket, Jake One, and more. This year also saw Nudy liberate videos for “All White” and “Vice City,” both of which are also expected to appear on Nudy Land 2. In addition to his own drops, he also contributed to tracks like Lil Uzi Vert’s “Money Spread,” Deante’ Hitchcock’s “Attitude,” and Smokepurpp’s “Ends.”
In a past interview with Complex, Nudy spoke on artists he looks to match from a career and success standpoint:
“I want to be big like [an artist like Drake] … You know who I like? Even though I wouldn’t dress like him or no shit like that, but J. Cole. He’s low key, but he’s big as fuck.”
Press play on “Never” below.
