Earlier this month, NLE Choppa celebrated his 18th birthday with his latest project From Dark To Light, a 13-track offering that features assistance from Big Sean and Ink. The project also further symbolizes Choppa’s transition via spiritual journey, as he revealed along with the project’s release:
“In this project I’ll be explaining the truth, I restore, but at the same time, embracing my growth. The dark side of me, the violent side of me, but as I’m showing the growth to my spiritual self, the light within, it shine bright to the outside of me.”
Today, the Memphis star reveals a new visual from From Dark To Light for “Done,” which is produced by Killian Beatz, Yung Lan, and TnTXD, and sees him harmonizing about being finished with the negative aspects of his life:
“Done with the pills, I threw away the Roxys, done with the bulls***, I don’t need nobody, I might just post up with a full clip right in front the projects, I seen a murder ‘fore it happen, I’m a murder prophet…/”
The accompanying clip comes courtesy of Waterwhippenevan, and begins with NLE Choppa giving money to someone in need. Footage of Choppa riding with his crew, showing off his Rolls Royce Cullinan and his dog, and more can also be seen in the video.
From Dark To Light was preceded by the August release Top Shotta, NLE Choppa’s debut studio album that saw 20 cuts and assists from Chief Keef, Mulatto, Lil Baby, and Roddy Ricch. The album also earned Choppa his first top ten entry on the Billboard 200 thanks to 36,000 album equivalent units sold during its first week of release. Add in his inclusion into this year’s XXL Freshman list, and it’s no question that it’s been a bright year for Choppa, with many more to come.
