Earlier this week, Nicki Minaj took to social media to reveal that she and YoungBoy Never Broke Again shot a video for a new collaboration with super-producer Mike WiLL Made-It. Then, it was announced that it was Mike WiLL’s track, titled “What That Speed Bout?!,” featuring additional production from 30 Roc. Today, fans get to check out the track, which sees the collaborators talking their usual talk as the hip hop frontrunners that they are. Accompanying the single is a dope, crisp visual that comes courtesy of Tyler Shields, which was apparently filmed sometime ago given the fact that Minaj is still very pregnant in the clip.
Back in 2017, Mike WiLL Made-It released his debut studio LP Ransom 2, a continuation of the 2014 mixtape Ransom that saw 17 tracks and a slew of assists from Big Sean, Young Thug, Kendrick Lamar, Lil Yachty, 21 Savage, Future, Rae Sremmurd, 2 Chainz, Pharrell Williams, and more. The following year, he provided executive producer duties for Trouble’s Edgewood, as well as the official soundtrack to Creed II. More recently, he assisted Chief Keef for his latest single “Bang Bang.”
YoungBoy Never Broke Again released his latest album Top in September, which boasts 21 cuts and features from hip hop behemoths Lil Wayne and Snoop Dogg. That project landed YoungBoy his third number one album on the Billboard 200 thanks to 126,000 album equivalent units sold during its first week. Meanwhile, Nicki Minaj has spent the year contributing to hit singles by Sada Baby, A$AP Ferg, Ty Dolla $ign, and Doja Cat, the last of who’s single with Minaj, “Say So (Remix),” earned both women a number one on the Hot 100.
