Drake isn’t the only one prepping a playlist for the youth.
Arriving March 24, Mike WiLL Made-It is ready to do it again — and by “again” we mean “Release All New Songs Orchestrated by Mike Will.” As the fitting acronym to his forthcoming album, superproducer Mike Will Made-It has tapped the likes of Pharrell, Rihanna, Kendrick Lamar, Future, Big Sean, Rae Sremmurd and more for his all-star effort, Ransom 2.
Last month, the Georgia-bred beatsmith previewed the project in Queens, inside South Jamaica’s 40 Projects to be exact, during the “No Beer” video shoot for Eardrummers Records’ own F1JO. “We doing this shit for the youth,” he told REVOLT during the set, as the much-anticipated Kendrick Lamar and Gucci Mane collaboration “Perfect Pint” played in the background. “So it’s just all the songs that I produced with all the artists that I worked with and I just put an ill ass playlist together,” he explained. “Everybody that’s young, that’s making noise right now, just wavy shit, just hard shit.”
At 17 tracks, guest appearances on Ransom 2 include Lil Wayne, Migos, 21 Savage, YG, 2 Chainz, Trouble, Chief Keef, Trouble and so much more. “We gonna do a tour,” he also revealed about the project.
To compliment the upcoming release, Mike Will released the project’s opener “On the Come Up,” which stars our appointed leader of the new school Big Sean.
“We releasing so much shit this year,” he assured.
Mike WiLL Made-It’s Ransom 2 is available for pre-order now.
