Gunna is still flying high off the release of his second studio LP WUNNA, as well as its deluxe upgrade. This week, he blesses his fans with a new visual for the track “SUN CAME OUT,” which is produced by Taurus and sees the Atlanta star boasting about his rockstar lifestyle with reckless abandon:
“The sun came out, I went and bought a drop-top, party on the block, lookin’ like a car lot/ F***in’ on thots, I’m stickin’ in a soft spot, condo at the top, lookin’ like a skybox…/”
The accompanying visual shows Gunna and his team on an Australian excursion, hitting up stores, meeting fans, and shutting down his stage during the Wildland’s Festival in Brisbane — presumably, this all took place last year, prior to the world’s collective shutdown due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
WUNNA was released this past May, and saw 18 tracks and appearances from Young Thug, Lil Baby, Roddy Ricch, and Travis Scott. During its first week of release, WUNNA sold an impressive 111,000 album equivalent units, earning Gunna his first well-deserved number one debut on the Billboard 200. A month later, he added to that with WUNNA (Deluxe), which saw an additional eight cuts and new assists from NAV, Lil Uzi Vert, Future, and Yak Gotti.
As previously reported by REVOLT, Gunna spoke on the album representing his alter ego in an conversation with Young Thug for Interview Magazine:
“The album is called WUNNA. It’s like my alter ego. I’m a Gemini, so they say Geminis are like two people, and I feel like WUNNA is my second person, like that’s the second me. That’s what I’m giving you with this album. The more cool, the more spontaneous, the wilder Gunna.”
