Buddy has been dropping quite a few dope releases as of late, which are all serving as precursors to his forthcoming sophomore LP. This week, he adds to the bunch with the new single “Glitch,” which features assistance from Tinashe and sees the Compton artist flexing about his value, his whereabouts, and more:
“Oh, oh, s***, system got a glitch, b***h, money comin’ in, it got an itch, b***h, everyday you know I’m gettin’ rich, b***h, n***as hatin’, I don’t give a s***, b***h/
Guilty conscience, I ain’t innocent, yeah, tryna make a n***a seize and desist, I command your b***h, I still ran the whip, I demand some chips, I’m bringin’ the clips…/”
“Glitch” follows the Matt Ox-assisted “Ain’t Sweet,” “Black 2,” and “Faces” with Lucky Daye, all of which will hopefully lead to an official follow-up to 2018’s Harlan & Alondra sooner than later. Back in April, he also teamed up with OverDoz. member Kent Jamz for Janktape Vol. 1, which boasts infectious cuts like “She Think” and “Bad Boys.”
Tinashe has also been keeping busy since parting ways with RCA Records. Last November saw the release of her fourth studio LP Songs for You, which boasted 15 tracks and features from G-Eazy, 6LACK, Ms Banks, and MAKJ. Since then, she’s blessed her fans with the new single “Rascal (Superstar)” and features on Iggy Azalea’s “Dance Like Nobody’s Watching,” ZHU’s “Only,” and THEY.’s “Play Fight.”
Earlier this month, Buddy was spotted on an episode of Guapdad 4000’s “Valentino Vlog” on REVOLT, which saw some behind the scenes footage for Buddy’s “Black 2” video shoot, where Guapdad makes a cameo. The two collaborators can later be seen kicking back in Palm Springs, presumably working on some new tunes together.
Press play on the Tinashe-assisted “Glitch” below. Given the frequency, a new album is hopefully on the horizon.
