Snoop Dogg, Ciara and Young M.A. have all secured radio shows on Apple Music.
On Tuesday (Aug. 18), the music and video streaming service announced a few of the latest changes on the platform.
“Beats 1” has been renamed “Apple Music 1,” and two new radio stations, “Apple Music Hits” and “Apple Music Country” were launched. A slew of new radio shows has also been announced.
“Uncle Snoop’s Army Radio,” a weekly show advertised on Snoop Dogg’s Instagram page, “will discuss the best of hip-hop’s golden era and shines a light on the legends who set the table.”
Ciara’s “Level Up Radio,” will “celebrate the definitive songs and sounds of modern R&B and shares stories of her experience as an entrepreneur, mother, philanthropist, and an unstoppable entertainment force.”
“I’m incredibly proud to share that I have my own radio show with @AppleMusic! #LevelUpRadio on Apple Music Hits! Come hang with ya girl!” she wrote, noting the idea for the radio show was “another cool moment” created during her pregnancy.
In Young M.A.’s biweekly show “Me Always Radio,” she’ll talk with fans and friends and discuss all things pop culture. The first episode of the show will air tonight.
Snoop, Ciara and Young M.A. are among the many celebrities that have decided to add radio/media personality to their resumes.
Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj have seen success with their Apple Music radio shows “Young Money Radio” and “Queen Radio.” REVOLT’s Joe Budden and N.O.R.E. also transitioned to media after a career in music. Most recently, REVOLT welcomed Fat Joe to the team and announced they’ll be airing his quarintine-friendly series on the channel. “It’s exciting what Puff is doing with REVOLT and giving a platform to creators and artists,” Fat Joe said. “It’s time for the biggest show to be on the biggest network. And I’m proud to partner with Puff and REVOLT.”
