Currently, Lecrae is gearing up for the release of his tenth studio album Restoration, which will see 14 new tracks from the Houston emcee and features from YK Osiris, Marc E. Bassy, Kirk Franklin, John Legend, BJ The Chicago Kid, and more. Following visuals for the singles “Drown,” “Deep End,” and “Set Me Free,” Lecrae unveils another for “Zombie,” which sees production from Epikh Pro and Taylor Hill and depicts the artist’s life before he found Christ:
“Runnin’ with my dogs, catchin’ plays, take you on a trip down memory lane, pullin’ pistols, stealin’ momma’s liquor, seventeen, I think I fell in love with a stripper/
Snortin’, sippin’, smokin’ ‘til I’m blown away, granny told me, “Wait on God, He on the way,” walkin’ dead, I’m on a ledge and praying I don’t fall off, spirit interferin’, now the new me ‘bout to go off in the dark…/”
The accompanying animated visual shows who is presumed to be Lecrae experiencing various vices, including women, fly cars, and alcohol. With the help of his family (and video games, via artistic merit), Lecrae finds the light and beats his demons through his newfound faith.
Restoration will follow 2018’s Let The Trap Say Amen, Lecrae’s collaborative project with legendary producer Zaytoven that saw 13 tracks and assists from Waka Flocka Flame, Verse Simmonds, 24hrs, and more. A year before that, he dropped All Things Work Together, which landed just outside the Billboard 200 top ten with almost 30,000 album equivalent units sold during its first week of release.
