If there’s an entity in hip hop that’s had no problem keeping their fans fed, it’s Griselda Records. This year has seen nothing but high-quality music from Westside Gunn, Benny The Butcher, and Conway The Machine in the form of singles, albums, EPs, and visuals, making the Buffalo outfit one of the hardest working right now. Next up, Benny The Butcher delivers a new track titled “Deal Or No Deal,” which sees production from Daringer and CAMEone. It should be of no surprise to anyone that the dark, creeping cut is packed with the kind of bars that make these guys the best in the business:
“187 with Griselda wrote in Arabic, murder, I’m aware of it ‘cause I’m who takin’ care of it, your lil’ b***h said she won’t f*** me ‘cause I’m arrogant, my plug used to let me hold them babies like a surrogate/
I had them dope boys payin’ deposits to get they hands on product, violence the only way you answer violence, I might pop up in the random projects/
With powder like a can of comet, two or three runners and a Pyrex, we supervillains to the music business, I’m gettin’ too specific with what I do in kitchens, my s*** too offensive…/”
In the last few months, fans of Benny The Butcher have also heard him trading bars with his Griselda team on Westside Gunn’s Pray For Paris, which was released back in April. He also provided an assist for Royce Da 5’9’s February drop The Allegory, and formally introduced his Black Soprano Family squad to the world with “Da Mob.” Last Summer, Benny blessed the world with the seven-track EP The Plugs I Met, which saw features from Black Thought, Jadakiss, Pusha T, and more.
