It’s been three years since Drake and DJ Khaled teamed up on “To The Max.” However, according to a recent Instagram post from the mega-producer, fans may be seeing a new collaboration very soon.
Earlier this week, Khaled took to Instagram to celebrate his 2019 album Father of Asahd and recent milestones.
“I FEEL LIKE MICHAEL JORDAN! WHEN HE WON HIS FIRST 3 PEAT!” he captioned a photo of his three platinum plaques for Father of Asahd, Grateful and Major Key.
“3 PLATINUM ALBUMS BACK TO BACK To BACK! Only Hip-Hop Artist to have 3 back to back Platinum Albums in the last 4 years [and] Grammy Winning,” he wrote.
Khaled also used the post to announce an upcoming album.
“Up next: New Album in the works. First single BEEN done!” he wrote, adding an owl emoji, which fans took as an indication to OVO head, Drizzy.
In a later post, Khaled suggested that the upcoming collaboration would be a summer hit, adding, “Remember, there’s no summer without a summer anthem. I am summer!”
Although he hasn’t offered an official release date, Khaled did reveal that he’s gearing up to shoot a new music video soon and teased fans again with an owl post on Thursday (May 21).
Khaled and Drake have teamed up on numerous bangers, including “I’m On One,” “For Free,” “No New Friends” and “Fed Up.” Drake is also gearing up to drop some summer heat, as he previously announced that his next studio album would arrive this summer.
“DARK LANE DEMO TAPES out everywhere at midnight…also my 6th STUDIO ALBUM DROPPING SUMMER 2020!!!” he wrote on Instagram after releasing his Dark Lane Demo Tapes mixtape. “Lucky number 6… soon fwd.”
“Definitely, this is the most excited I’ve been about an album in a long time,” Drizzy previously shared about the project with Diddy. “A lot of little stuff has been trickling out, but all the stuff on the album is fresh, it’s brand new and I’m excited. This is probably the most music I’ve ever been sitting on. I’m hyped.”
