Willie The Kid is slowly increasing the anticipation for his upcoming project, Capital Gains. The LP is set to premiere next month on Oct. 2. Today (Sept. 17), The Kid shares “Brewster’s Millions,” which features Curren$y and production from The Alchemist.
Willie The Kid’s last project was 2019’s Pearls, which also featured The Alchemist behind the boards. The new track’s title is a reference to a 1985 film, Brewster’s Millions. The Walter Hill-directed movie is about a minor league baseball player has to spend $30 million in thirty days, in order to inherit $300 million.
Curren$y has been treating his fans with a lot to be excited about this year. Just a few days ago, the New Orleans veteran shared a new visual for his track “Mugallo Red” featuring Rick Ross. In July, Curren$y teamed up with his frequent collaborator producer Harry Fraud to deliver the joint EP The OutRunners.
The Outrunners wasn’t the first project they worked on together, as the duo also dropped La Marina in 2018, which featured a smooth West Coast vibe throughout and included features from Smoke DZA, French Montana, Action Bronson, and Wiz Khalifa. One project per year isn’t enough for Curren$y, as he went on to release The Tonite Show with Curren$y with DJ Fresh, Spring Clean with Fuse, 3 Piece Set, Smokin’ Potnas with Fendi P, and The Green Tape with Cardo this year. He also released an exclusive sneaker collab with BAPE.
The Alchemist was an integral part of one of the more revered releases of 2020, Alfredo, his joint project with rapper Freddie Gibbs. There have been a handful of visuals for the album released this year, such as “Frank Lucas” featuring Benny the Butcher, “Scottie Beam” featuring Rick Ross, and “1985.”
