It’s almost impossible to be a fan of music in general and NOT enjoy Curren$y’s reign in the industry for last 11 years. The New Orleans spitter is undoubtedly the most consistent rapper in the history of hip hop. Dropping off mixtape after mixtape once he split from Young Money, Spitta has single handedly controlled underground hip hop and he’s still not done. You can even argue that he’s the blueprint.
Over the years, Curren$y has connected with countless producers to deliver some classic material. From producers like Harry Fraud to Alchemist, the amount of music to indulge in is endless. Today, he joins forces with 808 Mafia’s Fuse to bring us Spring Clean.
As a Curren$y fan, you’re always excited when he randomly announces mixtape or EP releases. Reason being is that he never lets his fans down and is one of the realest individuals in the industry. Well respected and well connected, the Jet Life head honcho knows exactly how to properly execute — and he never fails.
Spring Clean doesn’t shy away from Curren$y’s signature smooth and laid back flow not one bit. Listening to each record, you can hear that he’s at peace, high off some of the finest Andretti OG Kush, and relaxed.
This go around, the track list stretches through 10 records; featuring Jet Life’s own Fendi P, Maybach Music Group’s Gunplay, TY, and none other than his frequent collaborator and close friend Wiz Khalifa (side note: ANY time Spitta and Wiz link up, there’s a 99.9% chance it’s gonna be fire).
In an interview with New Orleans based platform A Million Roses, Spitta let it be known that he doesn’t plan to keep rapping for much longer (sigh) and that he’s focusing on his family, his brand and his Jet Life clothing line.
