If anyone’s been vocal about police brutality and violence against African-Americans, it’s T.I. When the protests began deteriorating in his city of Atlanta, he and Killer Mike stood next to mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms in an attempt to quell the chaos unfolding in the wake of George Floyd’s senseless death. Now, he teams up with South African star Nasty C on the new collaboration “They Don’t,” which sees him and his international counterpart continuing the message against the powers that be over production from Audiomarc, Gemini Major, and Nasty C himself:

“How could you blame as many sisters and brothers die? If they answer to it go and start another fire/

Guess they gotta do it, has to show objection to it, God bless ‘em, no direction, out there gettin’ to it/

2020, guess it’s the year of the burn, consequences you earned, to build this nation that you hate me in, the karma’s returned, well, that’s a stupid question, when will you learn?

You never will, word to George Floyd, Emmett Till, and Sean Bell, guess they’d rather see us all in civil unrest, than to go and make some f***in’ arrests…/”

In addition to making sure that we don’t forget the many Black women whose lives were also lost at the hands of law enforcement and extremists, the Atlanta hip hop legend also made sure to take Donald Trump to task for the recent use of his single “Whatever You Like” in an ad attacking his presidential competitor Joe Biden:

“Trump and his team (out of desperation for his campaign) have circulated a campaign video post throughout social media that includes the unauthorized use of T.I.’s song ‘Whatever You Like,’ along with edited images of him and Joe Biden. The video distorts lyrics from his #1 charting song by misrepresenting the lyrics through text language and distortion of his recorded voice.”
