Nearly a year after viewers watched Gucci Mane and Jeezy’s tense Verzuz battle, the two emcees are coming together for a star-studded tour that will feature some of their rapper friends. According to a post on the Snowman’s Instagram page, the “Legendz of The Streetz Tour” will consist of performances from him, Gucci, Rick Ross, 2 Chainz, Fabolous, Lil Kim, Boosie Badazz, Trina and DJ Drama.
“The Biggest Tour of the year..ft yours truly BIG SNO,” Jeezy penned the caption to the tour announcement. “Coming to a city near you. This will be epic. Legendary! Let’s get it #LegendzofTheStreetzTour.”
The announcement of the Gucci and Jeezy tour comes 10 months after both rappers appeared to end their years-long beef in Atlanta’s Magic City. Like every other Verzuz battle, the emcees went track-for-track, but tension appeared to rise after the “Lemonade” star dropped the “Truth” record, which references the loss of Jeezy’s associate Pookie Loc. Fortunately, things stayed under control, and the Atlanta stars shook hands and hit the stage with a joint performance of their hit song “So Icy” — a sign that the two had finally buried the hatchet.
In the days following the battle, Jeezy reflected on the Verzuz and discussed his decision to let bygones be bygones. “It’s been going on almost two decades,” he said.
“It was a point when we were cool…The real shit that went on, that’s just something me and him gonna have to figure out later on…Time heals all, but that was effort — it was in front of the world. It wasn’t even for show. It’s real life. We both gotta come to grips with that. We both gotta really be men.”
According to the flyer, the “Legendz of The Streetz Tour” will kick off in Augusta, Georgia on Sept. 30 and will hit Atlanta; Greensboro, North Carolina; Baltimore Maryland; Houston, Texas and a few other cities before the final stop in Memphis, Tennessee.
